What we do.
Five areas where HDE has current work, prior experience, or public artifacts.
01 · Applied Cryptography
Format-preserving encryption, key management, data protection libraries. Two issued US patents. Years of production work on commercial FPE platforms. The crypto underpins Cyphera's SDKs and the fpe-arena research code.
Relevant to: BAAs on FPE protocol design, key wrapping, format-aware tokenization, KMIP interop.
02 · Memory-Safe Systems
Rust-first systems infrastructure. A memory-safe, Linux-compatible kernel is in development as the Cyphera Kernel project.
Relevant to: BAAs, SBIRs, and direct-contract work on memory-safe kernel components, hypervisors, and high-assurance services.
03 · AI Infrastructure
MCP servers, agent memory, and local-first AI tooling.
Focus: production agent infrastructure, developer-tool integration, and evaluation methodology for regulated environments.
04 · Applied R&D
Research and prototype development for security, cryptography, memory-safe systems, and dual-use infrastructure. Prior defense-sector engineering on virtual maintenance trainers; contractor engagement at a Naval research facility.
Relevant to: scoped R&D, prototype development, technical reports, and proposal teaming.
05 · Enterprise Security Engineering
Architecture reviews, integration design, data protection strategy, and hands-on implementation for complex software environments. KMIP server implementations, nine client integrations, and an open PKI server are the operational backbone of this work.
Relevant to: scoped engagements with a clear technical owner and a concrete output.
